Record Keeping Awareness

Course Overview:
This course
provides care and support staff with a clear understanding of why accurate, timely, and professional record keeping is essential in health and social care settings. Good record keeping is a legal requirement and a vital part of delivering safe, person-centred care. This course supports compliance with CQC regulations, the Data Protection Act (UK GDPR), and standards set out by Skills for Care and other regulatory bodies.

By the end of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of accurate and factual record keeping

  • Identify what should and should not be recorded in care documentation

  • Recognise their legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities

  • Apply the principles of confidentiality and data protection

  • Use appropriate language and terminology in records
